On November 30th and December 1st of 2022, ABF Events, together with Zucoins, presented FinTech at the Sydney Masonic Centre. The two-day expo showcased some of Australia’s leading fintech, blockchain and emerging tech companies, products and services.
Zucoins was incredibly proud to be the event’s naming rights sponsor, securing primary positioning and branding within the exhibitor’s space and multiple key forum sessions.
The event kicked off for the Zucoins team with Founder, Allan Endresz, featuring on the industry panel session diving into the role of cryptocurrency exchanges. Karen Cohen, Founder of Emerging Tech Talent, Women in Emerging Tech, & Founder AlgoHUB.io, moderated the conversation, featuring other panellists, Mena Theodorou, Co-Founder & Head of Product of Coinstash, Maximilian Marenbach, Head of Platform Operations of Kraken and, Jess Rendenm, CEO of Cointree.
A common theme noted throughout the session was exploring the lessons the industry has learnt from the FTX crisis.
The panellists dove into the importance of education, exploring the significance of self-custody with security at the top of minds and building trust through transparency.
Allan focused on transparency and the impact the human element plays in the investment world, even with the greatest auditors and processes in place. Reiterating that it wasn’t crypto that failed. Instead, it was the humans in control, lacking transparency, credibility, and morals. He then introduced the SplitChain “Layer 1” network and how it instead puts the power back into the hands of the peers through decentralisation—removing the use of third parties and the need for peers to reside their coins in an exchange.

Directly after the panel session, attendees stuck around to listen to Allan’s keynote discussion alongside Zucoins COO, Liam Scammell. The pair concentrated the session on addressing crypto industry issues by rethinking crypto coins.
Diving into Allan’s intriguing history and some of the current and past issues encountered with the industry and global transfer of value, the pair begin examining problems such as scalability, security and cost.
Explaining Zucoins in more depth to the audience, Allan describes SplitChain’s ground-up approach that propagates and returns cached information across network nodes, allowing users to perform transaction validation. In addition, because the ledger is updated autonomously through an efficient settlement method between users, transactions with Zucoins are in real-time, and there is no need for costly fees from Miners or third-party verification, unlike other cryptocurrencies. With a big focus on safety and security at the event, the two also examine Zucoin’s in-built 2-factor authentication (2FA) as another game-changing advantage.
To finish off, they also played around with some hypothetical scenarios on how Zucoins can be applied in real-life to give the audience a better understanding of the magnitude that Zucoins offers and to gain further excitement!
After the keynote session, both Liam and Allan did a round of interviews with the ABF events team, showcasing Zucoins groundbreaking product and SplitChain technology to the fintech community.
The rest of the team was also hard at work in the exhibitor space, demonstrating and giving out Zucoins wallets to attendees and building business relationships alongside our CTO Robert Novak, who got to brainstorm and talk with developers and industry professionals.
Overall, the event was highly successful, with some very excited and interested people and businesses across the fintech industry.
